The battle had been far worse than expected. Once everyone had been accounted for Ariana had taken to the forest to see what was left. It was dismal. The trees were still smoldering even after the rains had fallen. The only good thing that would come of this would be in the next few years to come once life could rebuild and flourish again.
Once she had seen all she could take she went to the fields and found a small grassy patch to sit down at. Hatori, the bow she had made prior too leaving her home where she grew up was lost. It only hit her when she looked down at her side and saw it was not there. Mandre landed on the ground by her leg and kept watch while the tears fell silently down her cheeks.

Darcassan moved in silence, he looked from plae to place it would seem that things had also been killed. Running a gloved hand down the scar that now graced his face. Cutting through his tattoo of his bloodline, since it had been a creature who was non human nor elf to have caused the injury it was unable to be fixed or healed.
Stopping as he looked toward Ariana. He didn't speak, only just seated himself cross legged beside her. He had been greatful for her help during the massive war and she had saved him several times which was rare for him. He slowly turned to look at her. "Ariana."

She quietly wiped her tears away when Cassan sat down beside her. Once again he had found a way to sneak up on her which was rare for anyone to do. She had to find a way to hear him before he arrived. Soot still sodden her clothes and areas of her skin, she did not care to clean up just yet. Too much had happened to try and clear away the past.
"Hello Cassan.."
Ariana's voice was a whisper as she spoke, turning her head to look at him with dull honey eyes. As though speaking louder would cause some distress to her. It probably would as her lungs and throat still burned from the smoke inhalation.

Darcassan checked her over for wounds without seeming to, he couldn't really help with the cleaning but he could help her with her lungs and throat as he rested his gloved hand on her shoulder and removed the smoke from her lungs and fixed the burn till it was just a slight pain. He coughed before resting back. The scar clearly showed as did the soot and drying blood.
"That should help" He looked at his hand as he didn't really pay much attention to the blood that once again coated his hand as he rested his left hand behind his head. His right shoulder still working on mending itself, it would take a lot longer then always, almost at the rate of a human.

"Thank you, but now you save your energy to heal yourself rather than me. I will heal. It will just take time and patience."
She smiled a little and began to rip a small piece of cloth away from the belly of her shirt. Using the water off the leaves of the ground to moisten it before she placed it against the scar over his cheek. It was not much but it was something.
"You know Cassan, you are heck of a fighter when someone makes you mad."
She cracked a small smile, but there was not much else to say or do.

Darcassan was not used to the physical contact in kindness so it was strange but he did not pull away, he had grown to trust Ariana with his life.
"I am trained to kill those who threaten that which I call home, that includes those who reside within the walls." He looked at her. His eyes has a slight change to them, they were usually yellowish green now that were a straight yellow. The green had left. Showing just how much this had been effecting him. Even his aura would be contorted and mixed up.

"Your training must have been rigorous then.."
Though her throat felt better and she could breathe easier through her lungs it still seemed right to whisper. She gently blotted the skin around the wound at his cheek to clear away any debris. At least keep infection from setting in the best she could but it would take a true cleaning to clear it up. Faded amber eyes watching his own. His eyes changed as much as her own only his had colors that reminded her of spring. The green that she had seen before the battle of trees beginning to grow their leaves. The yellow allowing her to remember the feel of the sun and the color of bright spring flowers.

Darcassan looked at her. "We are trained as soon as we can walk. My clan is one of the more ruthless ones since they trained their youth as young as two to fight. I don't recall the last time I have had to fight that way in well over 4 thousand years."
He moved to sit up and winched, coughing up blood again as he sighed. Shaking his head. "I am sorry for your loss of your beloved bow Ariana. I know how much that would have meant to you."

She lost her smile at the mention of her bow. Turning her head and looking down. There were no words that could describe how she felt about losing the second to last item that connected her to her family. Her people. When he coughed she looked over to see the blood, narrowing her eyes at it.
"Did you hurt a lung? You should not be coughing up blood.."

Darcassan looked at her as he shakes his head. "All I can say since I don't know which other way to say it. Had I been human I would be long dead by now from the eternal bleeding that has taken space of over seventy percent of my body, but don't worry. The healing is doing it's job, just more slower then I had hoped."
He lay back down and looked up to the sky and pointed up to it. "Least the sky is a lot calmer then it has been. Something tells me that this will not end this coven but rebuild it from the ashes."

She looked at him and then up at the sky taking a deep breath. Before long she laid back in the grass beside him. Mandre nestling in by her arm silently. He was not usually found on the ground but if anything he was there for her. Amber eyes picked out the constellations. A tear or two still managed to slip past her eye lids as much as she tried to keep them at bay. Much had happened physically and emotionally. For once she was not feeling as strong as she once was.

Darcassan looked at her and tilted his head ever so slightly. "Forgive me but I do not understand much of the stars cause I hardly ever look at them." He moved his arm ever so slightly as a sickening crack was her. He sighed before sitting up.
He removed what had been left of his shirt. Axposing the darker skin showing just how different drow were to the normal elves most saw. He looked at the wounds, thinking to himself. "I only wish we all made it"

"Since I was young I needed to learn how to navigate where I was and to where I was going. At night the stars are our guide."
She rolled onto her right side, petting Mandre but looking up at Cassan. She could not put any weight onto her left side as of yet. Amber eyes seemed to lighten as she looked at his torso once his shirt was removed. She made a small sound before reaching out to touch his bare flesh. Not holding back or asking for permission. His skin was darker tanned than her own. But she could see the full extent of the wounds that he had recieved. The skin was bruised in places where he must have taken a heavy blow.

Darcassan looked at her, watching each move she made. "I am alright Ariana. we drow have a speical ability which dulls out pain greatly." He blinked, wondering what the sound was for that she had made but did not ask as he just sat there, allowing her to do as he wished.
The wounds were greater then he would ever let on but ht hardly felt any on them. "I'm sorry you fell through and you got hurt."

"Do not be sorry for something that neither of us could have stopped. It happened, I survived the fall and thanks to you.."
She gently nudged Mandre who moved out of the way with no protest so that she could sit up, leaning a little closer to Cassan.
"I did not perish in the fire beneath that wretched book shelf. So I feel as though I owe you more than a simple thank you, Darcassan."
