Daton was no stranger to his own company, in fact he was more unsure about conversing with others and often avoided it by staying in his room or avoiding the manor altogether. He was however well known in the local tavern due to his physical condition and while in the public eye he acted the part of a simple blind man very well, but inside the walls of the manor he was more himself, a much more independent being. He was never much of an animal person before but he found them to not be judgmental, after all animals loved attention for the most part and often gave attention back in return.
So why was he there now? He was watching the horses, leaning over the fence as he rightfully kept his distance, but it was a strange sight to see a hooded blind man in the evening watching the horses that b rights he shouldn't be able to see. One could argue he was listening to them move about and judging what they were doing from the sounds but anyone that knew him knew he could see something with his mind's eye no matter how limited that was.
There was also another reason. He was sure there were hunters in the area, hearing the whispers of rumor and his visions confirmed it, but he hadn't mentioned it yet for reasons unknown.

Aleron had spent two days in the ranch now, she had bumped into only one other, Stark, and she realised that she found comfort from the animals here and was not yet ready to venture further into coven lands to try and meet them. The black stallion who she had warmed to and he her, was at her side. It was the early evening and Aleron had recently awoke, the horse walking beside her, she left the stables and came out to the front planning on riding the beast who had become her pal. She paused as a heartbeat filled her ears like crashing waves, looking around she tilted her head when she spotted the hooded figure leaning against the fence. She cursed herself, she kept slipping up and not paying enough attention to her surroundings. Had it been just her walking then she would have been able to go unnoticed, unheard, but the sound of hooves clip clopped against the ground with obvious arrival and she sighed.
Aleron continued to walk, approaching the hooded man, she thought it better that she introduce herself now, then she could see if he was hostile or not before he possibly turned on her. ''Good evening. Sorry to interrupt you.'' She came beside him but left a distance, unsure of him and being cautious, she wasn't overly brave or stupid like some others, she knew to be weary, even if he was human, and luckily for him she had consumed a pouch of Taz's blood before she slept, it stemmed her thirst for a many number of hours and so she would seem not a fledgling controlled only by the greed and lust for blood.

Daton was indeed one of the few humans that resided in the manor and wasn't labeled as a snack, but that was just one of many things that had him on edge a lot of the time, but luckily no one yet saw him as an easy meal ticket. As always he had a simple looking staff with him and was currently leaned against the fence just next to him as his head moved to where this new voice came from. One thing he was good at was working out and remembering voices and their directions.
"Someone new... interesting.... sleeping with the horses.... maybe not the smartest of moves for someone of French blood" That little statement may have caused alarm, how could he know that when he didn't even know who he was speaking to, but that was an easy question to answer. He was a seer with an odd ability to see back as well as forward in time, which could be extremely confusing to him at times.

Aleron paused when the man turned to her, his eyes told her that he was blind but that was of no shock, he knew that she had been sleeping here, but how? ''Why is that not wise, what has my French blood got to do with it?'' She glanced to his staff and then back to him. His words indicated that he stayed here, was perhaps part of the coven, ''I'm sorry if I have trespassed. I came here to seek out the coven but have rested here with the beasts. '' They bring me comfort and I did not yet have the courage to find another vampire... that bit, she thought to herself.
The stallion grew impatient beside her and stamped his hoof paired with a flick of his tale, she patted his neck to calm him a moment before her thoughts swept her away; this man was a human and yet he resided here by the sounds of things, unless he was some sort of blood donor to them or a prisoner or something, she shook at the thought, then he was here at his own will, which meant that the vampires here may not be as bad as she originally thought.

"Some of the horses don't like strangers" He pointed out as he stood up straight, picking up his staff and leaning against it slightly, nodding at the mention of the coven in a thoughtful manner. His movements seemed rather slow compared to sighted people but that was natural with his problem. It was this time that he took a different step than he normally would and removed his hood showing a young face that looked as if he was just under 20 yearns of age, which e was. However his eyes wee covered b an old stained blindfold which also hid scars that could just about be seen around the blindfold itself which was unable to hide everything.
"I live in the coven, they are warm people most of the time"

Aleron smiled to herself, the animals seemed to have no problem with her, especially the one standing beside her. The man before her removed his hood, she was shocked to see how young he was, so young. She wondered what had happened to his eyes, or if he was born with them like that. The scars were evident beneath the blindfold and she closed her eyes briefly at the thought of the pain that may have been inflicted on him. His lack of hostility made Aleron relax, she opened the gate of the fields and let the horse go through into them to do whatever a vampire horse did and save the impatient hoof stamping.
A small curve of her lip at the irony of a vampire being called warm, ''Is that so? If you don't mind me asking, how long have you lived with them?'' Aleron knew not what their ways were with outsiders and she knew she could be turned or even chased away but she remembered what she had been told about them by both Stark and Taz and so she doubted it.

He didn't answer right away. instead taking a carrot from some hidden pocket somewhere on his tattered robes and holding it out to the horse next to the newcomer, who was quite happy to munch it with a few quick snaps on his mouth then patted the horse on the head, between the eyes gently. "One way or another I've always been around the supernatural, partly raised by a different coven of vampires but only because m mother knew them" Was his reply when he finally answered, still stroking the horse.
"It is interesting who some people make what species they are an important and worrying thing, don't you think"

The horse refrained from shooting off in the field, instead he was drawn in by the carrot, Hmmm, so he can eat normal food too then.. having had experimented with Taz's food to discover if she could still consume it. So he had always known the supernatural existed? A very, very different upbringing from herself. ''I agree.'' She smiled at his words, he seemed to be the sort of person to see everyone as equal, no matter what they were, she liked that, it was a good quality for someone to have, a respectful quality. ''I have not been here long, I came by ship from France after I was bitten. The few days I have been, the ones who I have met have directed me here. I did not know what to expect or what to do.''

"you should seek out Ajax and Sauri, it is their home after all" He pointed out as he plled out an apple from that hidden pocket again and a small pocket knife, nothing flashy just an average dull folding blade that he used ot cut slices from the apple which he ate one at a time. Not that he needed to slice an apple it was just some kind of habit.
"One thing I'll mention is not to kill anyone on this island, they don't take kindly to such things and after the attack....well.... they are more concerned than ever" He knew she wouldn't know what he was meaning by attack, but assumed she would ask someone about it in due time.

''Ajax and Sauri, are they the twins that I have heard of? The rulers?'' Aleron watched the man cut up the apple with ease, giving him an appreciative glance, she imagined if she were blind she would be able to do such things. Aleron did not know what attack he was speaking of but she shook her head to herself, ''I have no intention to kill anyone.'' Although she knew that if she did not keep her thirst under control then she would kill pretty much anyone she could get her hands on, but she did not want to kill if she could help it. ''I mean, I don't...want...to kill anyone.'' He must have some ideas at what it was like to be a new born after spending a life with the supernatural, she hoped she could make it stop, make the thirst more bearable and be able to control it. ''I do not have the right to ask you this, but would you take me to them?''

"If we an find them that is" He commented quietly, more to himself then to anyone else, maybe he shouldn't have mentioned that but couldn't change it now. He put his hood back on before nodding, turning his head in to the direction of the manor which could be seen quite well, no more than a mile or two away. "There is more than just vampires in that coven, there are werewolves and nymphs and even a succubus has been known to stop by from time to time" Oh he remembered that certain succubus, she was very energetic but mainly kept out of everyone's way.
"After you"

Aleron nodded and began to walk in the direction that the male indicated, she was wide eyed in thought of what other creatures he said resided there, so it was true then, everything she had ever thought to be fiction in the fairy tales wasn't fiction at all. It was a scary thought that both scared and intrigued her. She walked with hands in pockets but her eyes searched around, looking at every detail of the earth, every blade of grass shining against the moonlight. Every sound filled her ears, the gentle flaps of bat's wings, the neighs of the horses they had left in the fields behind, she would return to the stallion again armed with carrots seen as he seemed to have a taste for them, old habits die hard and all that she guessed given that the stallion had no heartbeat like herself.
She glanced back to the man and realised how rude she had been, ''My name is Aleron, Aleron Falera.''

"Daton, a pleasure I'm sure" e replied as they walked, the young man using hi staff to feel out any rocks or roots just in front of him mainly because he was walking around bare foot, which was something he always did because it was much more comfortable for him. It would have been apparent to anyone that knew him that he was being more welcoming than normal towards a stranger, maybe it was the simple fact that Aleron was newly turned, or maybe there was some pity towards her in his actions, but whatever the reason it was impossible to find by merely looking at him.
"Why didn't you stay in France?"

Aleron smiled to herself, she returned her gaze forward once more as they walked, she was tempted to offer Daton her arm but she thought he mind find that insulting so her hesitancy was pushed aside and her hands remained in her pockets, she by no means wanted to offend him, especially since he was helping her. His question caught her off guard slightly and it caused her footing to falter, she quickly changed her step to stop herself from falling over and continued on as normal, ''I left France because I did something terrible...I... I couldn't remain there.'' I can barely even live with what I have done living here, it would kill me to go back... ''I had to leave you understand, I had nothing for me there anymore..'' It was obvious that this subject was a sore one, a personal one but Aleron would not directly say what she had done.

"Sounds like you killed someone and the guilt is eating you up inside" He commented in his typical quiet tone even as he noticed the sudden shift in the sound of her footfalls when she lost her footing for a few seconds. It was a normal thing for newly turned to kill as soon as they see someone, in his opinion it was almost like a reflex action.
He then remembered lives lost by his hands, for both survival reasons or just rage when his emotions got the better of him, one of the many reasons he arrived here the way he did. "No one is free from sin or death, trust me I know"
