The building was dark and silent, the solitude occasionally broken by a gust of wind through a broken window, or the occasional rodent going about it's business. However, every being within the place, alive or dead, held an edge of tension, not only of what was already there, but also of that which was coming. The doors to the entrance blew open suddenly, a pair of glowing blue orb's from within visible from the outside.
Darius lent against the entrance, a psychic message searching for her, looking for that familiar taste, knowing it would find her and draw her to him as he waited patiently, choosing the place for it's ability to allow them to once again connect, without the risk of anything interfering, as between the pair of them, none of the dead or other beings within the place would be able to even move without their consent.
"So you miss the little necro eh Darius?" The voice, echoed through his head, lingering for a moment before he answered back, once again the words echoing across his psyche " Of course I do Fury, as do you! After all, she is one of the few we have ever really accepted, and I do mean ALL of US" the words receiving no answer but a laugh, Fury settling down deep into his mind, content to let this meeting happen as he also missed the girl, knowing that together they were an unstoppable force if they desired to be so.
Darius fell silent now, motionless, only the blue glow from the lens of the gasm mask showing his position, wondering how much the girl had changed, and if she would accept him now, or even if she would remember him. he had to face her however, after leaving the girl alone, knowing that in doing so, he may of pushed her too far to be able to even live a life any more, rather than just existing an existence. Pushing the call out once more, he stayed where he was, ready for what was to come, one way or another.

"Loud.. so loud it calls... it hurts us... it hurts our head!"
The second summon had the necromancer falling out of her little cot and rolling onto the floor, pulling at her hair. And then it stopped, but by now it had already invaded the girl's senses and she stopped clawing at her scalp mid-way to listen closer. This was something she knew, the call and the pull had been familiar it gave her butterfly heart something to flap its wings for. Hummingbird in a cage, wings fluttering harshly against rib-cage. Up off her knees and into a black mercerized cotton dress with a large amount of ruffles and pintuckes with the bow decorations, slender fingers fell into the grasp of fingerless gloves; which wiggled as Bunny waddled his way over to her.
"We're late! we're late! For a very important date!"
Into the boots her feet flew and then after lacing them, she made her way down the stairs and out of the dilapidated warehouse and out into the streets. The buildings seemed to fold in her direction and whatever creatures sung their praise were silenced as she skipped right on through. They held their breaths in the presence of the girl that could bring about their deaths with a simple draw of her fingers. Pausing in the shadow of the building she looked behind her, the darkness spread out further until it merged with her own shadow and she jumped out of the grasp of the Monarch. Pivot on her heel, into a spin that sent her skipping once more. Roaches spilled out of cracks in windows and amassed on the ground and built their own little mounds.
Taking flight like a bird, Sam made her way towards the asylum, the bow of her dress streaming out behind her like wings set too low, mingling with the dark red strands of her hair. Bunny flailed as he was carried one handed and left wafting in the wind like a flag. At the entrance she stopped, looking into the dark of the building with a stoic face, the plants sprang to life, went through their cycle of life and wilted at her feet. Only to spring up again and repeat the process. The pendant around Sam's neck glowed brightly and then dulled, changed in color before turning ruby red once more. The place brought back memories of the masked man, and curious she stepped inside, nervous as she bit into the ear of the stuffed rabbit, holding him before her like a shield.
"Yo ho.. yo ho! Sam's come as he has called!"
Her voice bounced back at her, but she still crossed the entrance; ending the cycle of suffering from the plants she continued to bring back to life and then kill.

He grinned as he heard her voice, though he was unable to see her so far. Instead, he felt the power she contained within, and the ways it was leaking out to the surrounding area. he was glad then that he had made sure there were no major bodies close enough to them for her to raise by accident, knowing how troublesome the beings could be, especially as he was unsure how she would react upon seeing him.
The lens of his mask began to glow as he answered her now, his voice travelling psychically again towards her " So Sam has come has she? But does she know who she comes to? Who's call she answers? I know she believed it to be the masked man, and indeed it is, but not the first, but rather the second."
His power flared briefly now, a series of torches forming a path towards him igniting now, allowing his form to become illuminated as he saw her now, his arms crossing across his chest " But alas I forget my manners, how be you Sir Bunny? Looking after your mistress like always? Such a wonderous being you are, fighting off all threats in that form of yours. To you, I take my hat off, or at least I would if I wore one."
He fell silent again now, watching the girl, unsure of how she would react, before he spoke once more, the answer to his question would allow him to know how to handle whatever would come next " Do you remember me Sam?"

Sam's feet came to a stop, the screams of the dead no longer reached her ears as much as they should have in the beginning. Spinning around she looked at the room, dilapidated with a coat of dust and dead skin. This place had been one familiar to her, she had been put in here after her first journey to the underworld, to the place of Death. The girl's brilliant eyes blinked and as Darius' voice brushed over her mind she whirled around, in time to trip Bunny whom she had dropped in order for him to make his own path. Blinking, Sam's head tipped to the side and the thread of the thing began to unravel. The scalpel the Bunny produced was not fresh nor clean, but rusted and infested with bacteria and dried up blood, jagged though still quite sharp.
Bunny stepped forward while Sam stared on once Darius had made himself known, the eyes of the girl traveled up to his glowing embers of blue and openly stared, unabashed and unashamed to be caught gawking. In front of her like a knight in cloth armor Bunny tilted his head in the same direction that Sam's was and waited. The stuffed animal was confused, though it appeared to recall the man before them faster than the girl for he stood at attention, a soldier holding a bayonet, at attention.
"Whose eyes are those? Maybe it is because the gate to Cocytus is closed now. The Great Will has come to be."
Sam stepped forward around Bunny's body and reached up to touch at Darius's mask. The girl had no boundaries when it came to invading the personal space of others and often found that if they returned the touch, they would meet the anger and wrath of the crazed Sam always seeking the Red. Fingers splayed and moved up, along what would be the jawline towards where the ears would rest, head still tilted to the side and eyes like emeralds shining from beneath the crimson of her unruly hair.
"He will take the chaos and purify it... it has become unstable, the crucifixion. Ring around the roses... full of broken promises... ashes, ashes... he is the lying Hatter now! Promise to stay.. he says.... secrets, and secrets and... nothing! Alone she walked for leagues on end and demons come to play again.... the Monarch she cries, OFF WITH THE MASKED MAN'S HEAD!"
Anger bubbled to the surface, her eyes turning pitch black as nails clawed back down the length of his mask and met at the middle, tugging viciously to try and pry it off, wishing to get to the mutilated flesh beneath. He deserved punishment for leaving.
"They all leave... in Winter, the cold it comes... flowers wilt and Spring brings back liars and deceivers... filthy defilers..."

"Be careful Darius, we remember how strong she is, and how much like us she is. If it comes to it, let us loose and we will do what has to be done." The voice echoed through his head at the same moment as Bunny stood to attention. Nodding, he snapped a mock salute at the teddy bear before he spoke (By mock, I don't mean an insult, but more that he was never in the army) " A good solider as ever Bunny, it's good to know the lady had such a good guard without me around."
He allowed the girl to touch his mask, leaning his face against her hand, listening to her words for a moment, before he grew stiff as she became tense. As she clawed, he sighed, knowing what had to be done know, unsure if violence was unavoidable until he got through to her. His hand shot up swiftly, taking a gentle hold of her wrist, moving it away from his face as he continued to watch and listen, before he finally chose to speak.
His psychic voice was louder now, knowing the volume would help penetrate her rage " Aye, I take the chaos, and put it in myself, so that you can be purer, and aye I made promises. However, I had not intention to break them. Like the red queen took Alice prisoner, as was I taken by the dark hunters, imprisoned and tortured, used as a plaything. I thank you |Sam, for looking for me, and I am sorry that it caused this."
He fell silent for a moment, his own eyes behind the mask boring into hers before he continued " However, the monarch will not have my head, just as before you and I denied her my head. But like always I will not allow anyone to harm me and mine. So what is your Choice Sam? Deny the monarch and listen to me? Or do you and Bunny intend to fight me?"
Again he fell silent for a moment, before he had an idea. Speaking again, he allowed his sorrow at breaking his word to her leak though " Trully Sam I am sorry, and if I wasn't why would I call you and Bunny here? You know me, you know I have no intention to die, even when I am left alone in this world. And whilst you may not be able to do so, you are the closest to it. So what will it be? Do we fight or talk?" With that he dropped the girl's wrist, looking at her, waiting to see her reaction.

Sam pulled against the grasp and kicked at his shin in a useless effort to try and pry herself free, falling to her knees with her hands above her head in his grasp she closed her eyes tight. The tears streamed down her cheeks and onto the floor, but the building began to quake and the ruby at her neck started to glow rather brilliantly. She was pulling on something she had found buried deep beneath the dirt, under the building and long forgotten. Straining the girl's body arched and her head snapped up, staring at Darius with red trails of blood smearing her cheeks.
The hair rose up like a specter, and her skin became sallow as the veins turned black beneath it and found their way along her entire body, widespread like a disease. Through his gloves he would be able to feel the pull of her power, the way she was slowly weaving her soul into his and all of those that he had within that suit and behind the mask. Her voice however, was sane as well as her eyes, they were glossy and black, two pools of oil glinting maliciously in the dark. They needed no light to see or be seen.
"Ring around the roses, the souls we take from hosts... What a silly rant the child has in her head. Do you think that I can't take control of her body now that you've left the soul so frail?"
Another tug at his soul, vicious and painful this time unlike the previous one before. She knew there were more than one in there and she was going to yank them all out if he didn't let her go. Darius was speaking to the Monarch now. But as his sorrow drained away, Sam's mouth screeched and she yanked viciously away from him, pushing his souls back into his body instead of dragging them out.
"LET US GO! THE MASKED MAN IS MINE!"
The building rumbled and she looked up at him, shoving the Monarch away before it tore the core of Darius out of him. Bunny moved then, the rabbit had been watching through bead eyes and saved them both from the building coming down and the ancient evil being reawakened by the tantrum of a demon. He hopped onto Sam's knees and crawled up the front of her dress as she struggled against Darius, then, on her chest he took the scalpel and jabbed into Sam's throat. The blood welled and she bled out as he struck the main vein, down the front of her dress and onto the ground until Sam stopped struggling against Darius's grasp. With Sam slumped forward, Bunny hopped off and stood at attention once more, waiting.

(Just a heads up for future posts anything in italics is posted as Fury, not Darius)
He felt the blows against him before he had let her go, paying no heed to them however. Watching as she underwent her transformation, the moment he felt the tug t his mind and soul, he knew what he had to do. The building shaking around them, he sighed, his form shaking slightly as he threw up a few basic psychic shields, not to push her out, but just to make it seem like he was struggling. At the same time he spoke into his own mind, aiming the words at Fury " Your in charge for a little bit, we gotta make sure this Monarch within her doesn't tale us, otherwise we are lost. Don't kill her though!"
With these words to himself, a sinister chuckle escaped his lips, the main personality of Darius not being torn from him, but charging down the throat of the beast
"Oh foolish being, you think you could take us? Even now, he who is in control is charging to your core, you better hope you spit him out before he takes over you too! But take this in mind, if he looses, I'll destroy you, and the form you inhabit, and then I will lead!"
As he spoke, he felt the being beneath begin to rise and grinned. Shutting down the part of Sam's link which allowed her to realise what was happening to that which she raised, he slowly ignited the being, burning it away in a slow fashion so that nothing else would make her realise what he was doing.
As the being within the girl tugged at him now, his teeth ground together, a psychic scream assaulted that of the monarch, full of the fury and pain he had experienced over the years he had lived, moment's before Darius slammed back into him.
Blinking, he shook his head, taking a moment to acclimatise to what had gone on whilst he was gone. Grimacing, he saw Sam on the floor bleeding, Bunny stood there, blood dripping from his scalpel. Darting forwards he gathered the girl into his lap. hand putting pressure on the wound as he looked towards her companion.
"Nod or shake, I know you cannot speak. I get why you did it, I'd of done the same, but answer me. Will she come back of her own accord, or do I need to pull her back by the body and the mind? Just know if I do, I will have to feed from her, and give her part of my essence in return."

That which tried to burn the Monarch was nothing but the play of children and the demon did not seem perturbed by the actions of the other within the being that Sam had come to tall the Masked Man. They could not burn her away as easily as they desired and to cause the Monarch pain meant causing Sam pain, something the Monarch knew would not be done for it would destroy the child and the one named Darius would not allow it. It was a perfect fusion of body and soul, the only one to be able to tear them apart would be the Monarch, who had latched herself like a parasite to a host and was not going to be releasing the body any time soon. Little did this new foolish creature know, the Monarch had been brazenly attacking to see just what it was she was up against. And she had succeeded in forcing the others to reveal their hands before she revealed her own. But the girl is fighting and the stupid rabbit does the only thing that can sever the link and push the Monarch back into the dark recesses of the mind; he slits Sam's throat.
The building ceases its rumbling and the creature that was being coaxed to life drifts back into its slumber. Darius picks up the dead girl and from the hallways comes Sam. Her feet drag horribly along like she can't use them at all. Dark, purplish veins cut through her pale white skin. Her hair is shadow-less black, and it moves through the air as though suspended in water, snaking out behind and drifting like reeds. It's the only thing besides her eyes about her that looks alive. She doesn't wear the death wounds like other ghosts do. Her throat is long and white. But there is the dress. It's wet, and red, and constantly moving. It drips onto the ground. Her eyes are like oil drops, it's nearly impossible to tell where she's looking and she's coming closer until she's standing above him, the goddess of death, black lips and cold hands.
Bunny refuses to answer anything Darius asks, simply continuing to stand at attention as he watches the ghost of the girl arrive.
"It's strange, looking down at myself from this angle."
Her voice is soft, feathery and weak, like it might be blown away by the wind. She crouches down and touches at Darius's mask now, the smile makes her eyes light up, growing a deep green instead of that oily black. One look at her body makes it seem like such a pathetic thing, her head shakes and she looks back up to Darius.
"Hello Darius, we can talk until you feel my body start to turn cold. Then you'll have to pull me back into the body or let me die and finally rest in peace."

Feeling Sam's spirit touch him, he realised what Fury had done, as strong emotions of rage an anguish flooded him, something he had not felt for a long time, long before his mind had split. Screaming at one of his other self's the emotions touched them all " Fury you fucking fool! What did you do?" Not knowing that the other had only shown part of their power, unknowing that just like him, none of them knew what he was capable of, though Fury knew more of what they could do destructively than any of them knew.
"Relax Darius, I threw a bit of power out, but not even a fraction, simply to test the waters. You know what we have to do now, but we also know that what she contains we will have to face again. Now do it! Because believe it or not, I care for the girl just like you do. We all do! We may all be our separate entity, but all of us are governed by you to a degree, AND ALL OF US CARE FOR HER!"
The psychic shout hit him hard enough to rock his form, all of his personalities joining in on the last few words. He laughed now, the sound actually emerging from his throat, a wretched sound as he tore his mask away, striking quickly at her throat. However, he did not drink, rather just embedded his fangs, speaking again to Darius, and making sure Bunny heard too " I'll do what must be done, but you must protect us both. No one hurts her, she's too young for that, but anything else is allowed"
With that he abandoned his body again, driving his psyche deep into her. The first things he found were obstacles and mazes set by the Monarch, but rather than follow them, he smashed right through, before he finally found the demon " You may be strong, but my demons are born from me, and you compared to them are easy!" With that he slammed the entity down, locking it away for now so that it couldn't interfere with what he was about to do.
With that, he delved deeper, moving through her mind and soul till he found the spark he was looking for, that essence that was her. Finding it, he dug into it now, much like he had done physically to her body, and dragged into into her more, further and further to the surface until he finally let go, moments before he burst into his own body again.
Shaking his head he looked down at her, waiting to see if it had worked, ignoring the questions of his other self. His only action was to gesture for Bunny to move closer, and to drop the scalpel, waiting to see the result.

"Darius! No, Darius stop! Stop!"
The ghost of the girl protested but the man did not hear her, he was emitting waves of anguish and rage. The puncture at her body's neck translated to her own and Sam touched at it, the black ichor oozing out of the wounds as he set the demon inside of her free. Each delicate maze and obstacle he broke through only tore the sanity from her. The green of her eyes vanishes and turn black again, they're wide and staring downward. She's sunk onto her hip, too weak to hold herself up. Her arms, which could crush cinder-blocks, are shaking just trying to keep her torso off the floor boards. Then it happens, he slams the Monach and locks her away which in turn banishes Sam.
The ghost disappears and her body begins to grow cold. He's done something horrible to her, trapped her in a place she may not be able to escape at the mercy of the Monarch. But there is one other creature that knows what has happened and what to do. Bunny comes forward but doesn't drop the scalpel, he dips it into the blood pooled on the floor and waddles to the nearest wall. Back and forth he goes, dipping the scalpel in the blood and writing on the wall until the entire message has been written in Sam's blood.
SAM IS THE MONARCH, THE MONARCH IS SAM. BOTH ARE TRAPPED NOW IN THE MONARCH'S WONDERLAND. RELEASE THE MONARCH, RELEASE REDD SAM, OR LET THE INNOCENT GIRL'S BLOOD BE FOREVER ON YOUR HANDS.
