Getting Out

In the dead of night the humans rested, the members of the coven were busy with their own affairs and chores... the night was quiet, and for once all seemed calm.

However, now Daton was fully healed and mobile, and with everyone getting on with their lives when he had been shrinking away from everyone it wouldn't surprise him if no one would even notice the empty room in the tavern. After paying board for the weeks he had been there Daton left the strip, using the shortest route to the harbor, taking nothing with him because all his possessions had been destroyed in the fight the night he was stolen away.

When he arrived at the harbor, he waited for a boat, any boat would do, but he was going to leave the island before sun up.

Electric blue eyes snapped open, hands slamming against the ground she was upon her feet in a split second. She had been hiding out in a farmer's field taking advantage of the long grass to hide herself.
Wearing the white dress as she had come to do most of the time since Vaughan had left her she had bare feet but that did not stop her from now sprinting off at unnatural speed through the countryside.
Her adoptive little brother his signature had changed, he was hiding from her but she was stronger then that and she set her mind on finding him.

Even with the speeds she could reach the fear still gripped her that he would be gone long before she got to him. The fear that thought caused her had the spirits howling with laughter.
Leaving the soft ground feet soon hit the unforgiving man made surfaces of the town as a she ran through town towards the harbour.
To humans all they would see was a blur of white.

He knew that when it was found out he was gone that people would be looking, and also knew the likes of Kenshu and Erebus would be the best trackers to find him because they knew him the most.... so it was a bad thing that there were no boats in sight, which was likely down to the attack on the coven, the humans too fearful to come to the area.

He sighed as he listened out, hearing nothing, which didn't improve his mood, so he would wait, leaning against the repaired guard rails. If any of the vampires had found him and were searching he knew he was no where near quick enough out run them, and his mind was still too fragile to do any tricks to keep himself hidden.

Cursing as a disreguarded nail from a work boat punctured through her foot Kenshu stumbled but kept going set on reaching Daton and making him stay before it would all be to late.
Calling out to him when she reached the harbour all of the noises made it hard for her to focus her powers on locating him properly.
"DATON!"
She shrieked ignoring any looks from passing fishermen.
"What the hell are you doing?"

He sihed hearing Kenshu's voice, turning to the direction the sound came from as he folded his arms, waiting for her so they could talk without shouting for all to hear. He was impossible to read right now, like his mind was blank, like he felt nothing, numb. "I'm leaving, I'm waiting for a boat then I'm gone"

She ran until he was within her grasping distance sighing she looked at him shaking her head she knew she didnt have to tell him how much she didn't want to lose him and for him to leave her.
"What about the ones that came to save you? What about us? Will you just leave us and forget forever?" she frowned coiling her arms around herself.
"Do you not care?"

"You don't know what happened, none of you do" He snapped, one of the first times he had ever snapped at someone, hos voice cold, dead, like he felt now a days "I keep what happened shielded from you, I can trust them.... vampires just see my species as a food source and the only reason your family took me in is because they had to not because they wanted to"

It was pretty clear by his actions since he came back, the way he kept isolating himself that he no longer trusted the remains of the coven, he no longer trusted vampires, but his mind was still extremely fragile, full of weak points and painful spots from the constant suffering and the forced use of his abilities that was a constant for the month he was missing. "you should go back and forget I exist"

"They had to?" she growled at him angry that he was turning against vampires, which was where she had come from her base species after all they had done for him, tha Ancients had been nothing to do with the type of vampires that took Daton in.
"You insolent little brat" sge hissed at him "After all we did for you all those years ago" she hurt at the words he had said and that he felt he could just turn his back.
"What we should do is make it so you don't exist at all" eyes flaring she moved off starting to walk away so not to lose her temper further.

It was just as well she turned and began to walk away, as soon as her back was turned, Daton was resting against the railings, rubbing his head, a searing pain rushing though his head causing him to nearly fall straight straight over the railing and in to the sea, which wouldn't have been a good thing "I trust you...."

The pain he felt registered with her as soon as it had hit him it made her cringe feeling the same pain that he felt only with the constant pain she was in she had been more prepared for it an didn't faulter not until guilt took her turning around she walked back towards her adopted brother her eyes still rife with emotion from what he had said.
"Then where are you going?"

"Can you blame me after what I've been through?" He asked as he straightened up, taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly "I haven't left my rented room since I got back, thats been ages now, I'm terrorfied of whats around the corner that I can't see"

"You don't think that those who were left here suffered just as much as you Daton, if not more. We watched our friends die, some of them torn to shreds while we were helpless to save them" she replied her voice called. "You think Erebus will be pleased he tried so hard with Xiomara to bring you home for you to just leave?"

"There are worse things then being killed, and I saw what happened... I was forced to see what was happening" He muttered in a quiet tone, the empty eye sockets behind his eyes apparently glowing a bright white which could be seen though the blindfold for a few mere seconds before dying away again "they tried to break me, they destroyed my mind to try to get me to co-operate... then erebus came, and the cat... I crushed an ancient's head as if two large rocks hit its head from either side, something unlocked in me that night and right now I'm more dangerous then the ancients that tried ot destroy this place"

She shook her head listening to what Daton was telling her, she felt bad for him understanding how it felt to feel the way that he did and to go through what he had been through, she had suffered the same sort of things as him due to the spirits and she had in the end been driven mad by it.
"You're not the only dangerous one"

"right now I'm the only one thats not in control, and I don't want to lose my sanity like everyone else will do with the gifts we have, I refuse to go like that" He sighed as he rubbed the left side of his head as he tilted it away from kenshu "Plus I have to find out just what my father was, or is, so I know what I can expect, if my powers are evolving I have to know"
