Sharing one's Power

[Alex]

He woke up, still slightly dazed, it was not often that he slept for long periods of time, he looked around, remembering where he was and moved over to the other child, the child was still sleeping soundly so it was no point in waking him.

Stepping out of the room and rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he looked around, for the moment he had left all his usual weapons beside the bed, to sleepy to remember to grab them as he moved into the other room, looking for Erebus.

He spied the kitchen and walked in, moving to grab a drink before cleaning up and seeking Erebus out by feeling where the older male was by the link they shared for the moment only to find the other watching a strange looking box and moving pictures. He moved over to the chair and stared at the strange box. "Is this all you do, watching this thing?"

"When there are strange kids sleeping in my house and I feel the need to stay awake and make sure that they are ok... yeah" he replied picking up a huge mug he shook it about empty "And I drink plently of coffee"
Getting up off the chair he puhed Alex's shoulder gently so he could sit down also. Giving him the remote he was sure he would work it out.
"I will make you some breakfast I am sure you can work out how to use the idiot box all by yourself?"

Looked at the remote and tossed it away, he wasn't really interested in the tv, but he did sit in the chair as he lay his ehad on the arm of it, a small grin showed as he watched Erebus. "You know you don't have to, don't you" His hair covering part of his face as he yawned, not used to sleeping so much, it still felt odd to have a connection to another again.

"What I know I don't have to make you any food?" he replied already having grabbed a various amount of different foods out of the fridge and shelves. "Of course I know, I don't have to do anything if I don't want to do it" he grinned looking at Alex making himself comfortable in the chair.
"I assume you both had a good sleep didn't hear a peep out of either of you" he grabbed a frying pan putting it on the stove followed by another one. "Bacon, eggs, mushrooms, Fried bread, sausage, bread.... want anything else?"

Blinked and listened to him mention different kinds of food as he couldn't help but move into the kitchen to get a better look at what he was going to cook. "That's a lot of food and I don't sleep much so it was a little weird, I blame you." He sat on the chair and looked at the fridge, concentrating on it.

"Blame away it probably did you a whole lot of good" he replied chopping up what needed to be chopped he lobbed them off into the frying pan on a low heat to give him some time.
Getting out the plates he got a squeezer out of a draw and shoved some oranges and grapefruits into it for some juice.
"Why don't you go wake up the other kid and see if he wants some food?"

Nods and moved away to retrieve the child only to let out a startled cry and fell back, the sheets were bloody and the body was only half there, he backed away sharply, a red aur surrounding his form and slightly burning the floor underneath him. "Erebus!!"

Tossing the pan onto the side so not to set fire to anything he bolted across the halls and into the room skidding to a stop to drew in the image that was before him. There was no doubt in his mind that the little one was dead. Grabbing Alex he covered the two of them in a high intensity flame protecting them from anything that might want to harm them.
Amber eyes flickering around the room as he slowly backed out "What the hell happened to him?"

Held onto his shirt and looked around, he wanted to see what was left, he didn't understand how easy it could have been for something to do that within the short time he had been in with Erebus, looking up at him. "Told you he was going to die..." He cringed.

"Oh yeah.... thats helpful right now" he responded his head now all over the place with fury and guilt that he had made the kid come back here straight to his own death. "If I let go of you, can you keep that flame up on your own, so I can have a look around? Nothing will be able to touch you when its that hot" now they had reached halfway down the hallway still not having seen anything moving around.
"I am going to find what ever did it and I am going to kill it"

Watched him and let go of his shirt, nudging him away to let him do what he needed to do and leaned more on the wall, looking around. His right hand moved to a sheath then forgot he didn't have his weapons on him, he concentrated to keep the flames dangerously hot against anyone but Erebus. "I'll be here, just come back.."

"Don't move from this spot, I need to know where you are at all times. Scream for me if you see what ever it is" he stalked off down the hallway remembering what Alex had told him about them sharing injuries. He tried to keep calm to stop his rage from pouring out of him so he would not frighten the kid.
Going from room to room he scanned everything for any sign of changes, that something had been moved or disrupted.
"Who are you?" he called knowing the thing was probably still around.

Watched Erebus leave and remained dead still, sliding down the wall, he rested his head on his knees as he just closed his eyes, he was listening carefully, he seemed to go still as he tried to feel out anything that was there, he cringed again, the image of the boy he had only been sleeping beside now gone, he held his head and winced again. The flames starting to spread.

Going to the garden he opened the sliding doors looking around slow before he turned away going to the second side of the house.
Walking loudly so what ever it was would search him out hearing him easily he made no effort to hide, he wanted it to find him.
Shaking his head he arrived back at the boy's bedroom looking in at the gruesome scene his stomach flipping.
"Show yourself you coward!" he yelled down the hall.

Opened his eyes sharply and stared at the shadows, his fingers digging into the floor he was sitting on, he could feel something there, he shared his feelings to Erebus without having to say anything, letting him know how strong the bond was, keeping the flames up as the shadows seemed to twist and morph.
