The house was hectic, his muscles ached with tension and it had been a long time since he had last tangled with Kenshu after making a pact with plague. Vaughan slid the cigarette tray over towards him as he made himself comfortable in a booth after ordering a drink from the Tavern bar. At least things with Romal had come to a resolution but personally Vaughan had bottled any type of emotion in reference to the whole ordeal for the sake of getting the job done and not faltering infront of the others. Leadership carried small glitches with large burdens and Vaughan hadnt felt that familiar heaviness in quite some time. This evening he had left Nathaniel to assist Caine in helping Romal to remember and he had taken leave from the Dimitru household to get some air, and drown out the tension with a decent drink since half of his own were still packed in boxes

Settling at the Coven had been harder than she thought it would be, she couldn't stand to be there. The thoughts were driving her absolutely mad, little imprints of memory here and there. The laughter of a child she'd never hold again, the absence of the first person she loved. It all got under her skin and made her tear at her hair. Now she had been caught in the rainstorm and her hair sparked dangerously, thoughts of murder and rampaging were all she could think of. If she didn't get inside she'd electrocute someone. This is what happened when Romal went missing, but he couldn't take care of her anymore than she could take care of him.
Into Vale's tavern she went, wringing out the limp and sopping wet strands of her hair. Looking around, the electricity continued to dance through her hair, electric blue eyes absorbing the light and everyone within. Her brows furrowed and she stepped closer, feeling that familiar pull. Her voice cracked, hoarse and disused. Fractured like her soul. "V?"

Fingers holding the lit cigarette tapped the ash from its cherry on the edge of the bowl where Vaughan sat in contemplation of the last few days, not having immediately noticed Azrae's appearence despite the flurry of whispers from other occupants at her state. It was when her broken voice cut through the air that Vaughan's eyes shot up to see her soaken form and he abruptly slid out from the booth and stood oposite her with a brow creased in concern "Azrae? jesus christ sit down you look terrible" Vaughan murmured as he strode over to her, taking his own jacket off and throwing it around her shoulders.

"V?" Afraid that Vaughan might be one of the weird hallucinations she had been having recently, Azrae stayed put and continued to stare at the man. The clapping of thunder outside didn't even make her flinch, it was the way the jacket felt heavy against her shoulders that knocked her off balance. Though she moved forward and threw her arms around Vaughan, just because she was happy that this was real; and hoped that he wouldn't turn into some demon haunting her days and nights. "You're real. Well, I have been walking in and out of hell, and I was just outside."
But was it more than that? Could he tell that she hadn't gotten much sleep? That she was losing hours of the day where she had no clue what she had done or how she had gotten places? It didn't matter, she let go of him, trying not to get the rest of him wet. Then she frowned, the smile turning sour and her eyes narrowing. "Romal.. You have him, don't you? What's been going on? Why am I back here?"

The way Azrae threw her arms around prompted the increasing concern to rise within Vaughan, knowing full well Azrae was out of sorts though it had been so long since he had seen her last he had no idea of what trials she had endured. When her smile soured he felt frustration run through him, he knew Azrae meant well for all of them but she had obviously spoken to Romal. Would she believe him? or would she spring to the defence of Romal and in turn the defence of Nero. Sighing gruffly he gestured to the booth "Please Azrae sit down at least" he replied before taking a seat oposite her, taking up the cigarette he had left balanced on the rim of the cigarette tray. "Im not going to lie to you Az, yes i do have Romal. Romal spent years with my father before returning to kill the family" he told her plainly, he would go into detail with her but he was tired of justifying his actions, he may have hurt his little brother but he was trying to help him more then anyone would know.

If this had been any other time, any other day or situation, Azrae might have jumped to Romal's defense, it was very clear who she sided with. But, it also happened to be Vaughan and she was completely out of sorts. Which was why she listened to him and slid into the booth, sliding her arms into the sleeves of his jacket and holding it shut, hunched into it for warmth. She couldn't understand why it was she was cold when she didn't used to feel it or mind it before.
As Vaughan explained she chewed on her lower lip, the explanation was short lived, small and abrupt. It did its purpose. "I see... That's why he started to spazz out when I saw him at the cemetery. I knew something was off, but he wouldn't tell me what. He was calm up until I mentioned you or Caine."

"Please be careful around him Azrae, i know he is here to kill our family but i still need to make sure he cant hurt you or anyone close either." Vaughan replied. A bartender approached with the bottle of whiskey Vaughan had ordered and he nodded his acknowledgment to the young man "Trouble you for another glass thanks mate" he requested and the man nodded before heading back to fullfill Vaughan's request. Vaughan could see Azrae was cold, pulling the glass over and taking the bottle into his hands, pouring a nip for her and sliding the glass over "Get that into you, it'll help to warm you up" he told her, not wanting a no as an answer. "I'm not going to hear about how poorly my brother is, I am helping him Azrae, I am helping my whole family" Vaughan added looking past the bottle at her. "Now tell me how the hell you ended up soaked to the bone and looking like a right mess"

Since there was no room for refusal and she didn't exactly want to refuse she downed the whiskey like it was water and placed the glass on the table again. Her throat burned, but it was a good burn and soon enough the warmth would spread through her veins like a well placed blanket and a stoked fire. Vaughan's words were harsh when he spoke of Romal, but taring at him now in silence she could see the lines of worry and fatigue etching themselves on his skin. She could see his body's molecules dying and regenerating. Azrae shook her head and looked away. "Don't tell me to be careful around Romal or to stay away Vaughan. It appears I'm a buffer, because he tends to stay calm when around me. I know he keeps my sanity present instead of on holiday."
Reaching over she took the whiskey bottle from him and poured herself a little more, sipping at it slower this time to really take in the flavor while she gathered her thoughts in regards to his question about why she was in the mess she was. It made her smile and look back at him. "I can't sleep, eat or even hold still when I'm in the coven. All I hear are my dead son's footsteps, his laughter, and his father's shadow. I crawled out of a cemetery somewhere in Arcane and walked all the way here, I.. vaguely remember talking to a demon named Plagued and his brother Xaphan... There was a church, there was a massacre, and then there was Kenshu missing. Finally...There was Lacrimosa and the Coven. That's about how it went, I'm still working on the details."

What Azrae had spoken of generally threw Vaughan for a six, completely astounding him first and foremost by the apparent death of her son. "...Azrae i cant say how heavy my heart is to hear you lost Micah, only that i wish i had been around to have helped change the tides" he replied, having ignored her reply about Romal. He didnt believe now was an appropriate time to argue over Romal and his situation. When she mentioned Plague and Xaphan his back straightened significantly and then with Kenshu apparently missing he shook his head "Wait a minute, what is this about plague and Kenshu missing?" he asked with confusion. Had Plague decided to dip his toes in trouble around Kenshu after Vaughan had made his pact? he felt a stir of anger in reference to the demon.
When the bar tender returned with a glass, Vaughan thanked him, taking his own time to pour a glass and enjoy a sip, savouring the rough burn of liquor across his lips and down the length of his throat.

"I'm going to wager you don't know where Kenshu is at this moment, do you? Plagued took her, they went to the Death Manor and they abducted her. There's a girl there named Cassandra, she knows of what happened to Kenshu; but I'm sure that they won't kill her." Like Vaughan had ignored the comments on Romal she too ignored the sorrow expressed for the loss of her son. There was nothing anyone could have done or could even do at this time. It had just happened, and she frowned not understanding why she wasn't wailing like a banshee.
Sighing she took a drink of her whiskey and tipped her head back, then snapped to attention as something else stirred in her memory. "Vaughan... I think Plague has Micah. I've been down to Hell and I can't find him. Hades doesn't have him anymore, if I can get Micah's soul back I can give him blood and fashion him a body... but I have to do it before."

The news was a blow to Vaughan, disgusted to know that he was idiot enough to believe that Plague would abide with their pact. his hand balled into a fist as the other held the bottle as he poured himself another drink, filling it higher as he grit his teeth. He had seen Cass on the odd occasion in the past but he knew now that it was imperative to make contact and find out what the hell was going on. Vaughan couldnt help Kenshu get rid of anything if Plague was off playing games. he had played into the higher demons hands and he knew it now. "fuck" he muttured and placed the bottle down with a gruff sigh, wiping his face with his other hand. How could things get so skewed? The added interpretation of Plague possibly having Micah simply gave him more ammunition to hate plague more so then before. "i'll help you with Plague though im restricted Azrae...I made a deal with Plague, i am bound to him in a pact so killing him is writing my own death but if he does have Micah Az i will, i swear..i will get your son back for you" Vaughan murmured

"Vaughan, you know better than to make pacts with demons. How many times did we think we were safe from the Ancients, the council and how did they mop the floor with us?" She shook her head and finished up her drink, holding her hand out for the bottle. When and if Vaughan handed it over she took a drink straight out of the bottle. Then she started to pull her dripping hair up into a bun over her head. "You leave Micah to me, I mean no offense Vaughan, but I don't trust anyone to help me with anything anymore. Damien turned his back on me right after he thought I turned my back on him. I will get Micah on my own. You worry about Kenshu."

"I am not Damien" Vaughan snapped at her with a growl, having handed over the bottle he had sat back. he knew he had known better though he had no other way to stop Kenshu's madness and vunerability from the spirits who haunted her and he was in his last effort to try and save what they had left if anything at all. he shook his head and sighed "Sorry, I know you cant trust anyone" he replied as he rustled around for his pack of smokes in his jean pocket, eventually standing up briefly and tugging it up from the bottom of the pocket and sitting back down before offering her one. "As much as i hate to ask, when he is calm around you, is Romal still there somehow?

"No but you're too preoccupied with your damn brothers to see past most people. Because they can't fucking take care of themselves!" Azrae's eyes blazed red as she leaned forward and the tavern quaked with the expulsion of power. Lightning danced off her hair and assaulted nearby patrons, her face cracked like fine porcelain and blood streamed down her cheek until she wiped it off, sat back and took a deep breath.
Shaking her head she poured herself more drink and handed the bottle back, she needed to get herself under control, and switching the topic to Romal definitely did the trick. It helped her take the heat off her personal life. "Sorry V, I know you're not Damien. I know you're doing your best.. And yes, he is still there. He's still got the sweet tooth for sour gummy worms and his face lit up when I mentioned them. Mal is definitely still in there."

He watched as Azrae quickly became enraged though what she had said made him stop and think. she was undoubtedly right in his eyes, he was often too preoccupied with his brothers. he had tried to be a little more independant though he knew he sacrificed his own life for the sake of ensuring the safety of his own family. He couldnt argue with her and for a moment he looked conflicted.
As she spoke of Romal he fought back the layers of emotion he had supressed time and time before, glad to know that at least their efforts werent lost and Romal was still around inside. sighing he nodded in acknowledgement before pouring himself another glass as she had slid the bottle back over to him
