it felt like minutes though in reality mere seconds passed as the events occured before his eyes. as Sauri had pulled him behind her, Caine's eyes widened slightly. Only this had been halted as his brother dashed towards them, shoving Caine to the ground before fleeing. As his world turned ahead of him, Caine looked up just in time to see sauri falter in her stance, collapsing as he scrambled to his knees. raising his hands with palms open he caught Sauri's body, pulling her into his lap with rushed hands and panic in his eyes. What the hell had she been thinking, what had any of them been thinking...

"No...no Kenshu not this time, stop and face me" Vaughan spoke sternly as he slowed in pace the closer he became.
"now Kenny....Tell me exactly what part your playing in this plot Sauri has planned...She never said anything about you being here" he asked her, somewhat worried of what she had gotten herself into

Paler then usual the rose tattoos along her arm and shoulder were closed up tight. Slowly but surely they began to open again after what seemed like an eternity. Caines scent hit her and she inhaled deeply. "Caine.." she groaned and then smiled."she's....dead..." She said, and her head went back a little. "I'm...tired.."

Her arms tensed up and wrapped around her as Vaughan's footfall fell closer and closer behind her, she imagined for a moment that his arms wrapped around her, his body pressing to her back in a calming embrace..the way they had once acted to one another. It only acted in causing a few of the screaming spirits to pause in their shrieks and laugh at her torment so petty to them.
"Shhh" she hissed at them listening to Vaughan as he made demands at her.
Turning around she looked up at him, electric blue eyes confused and listless after her power display.
"Our part is done V, we did as she asked of us.."

hed been sinking for some time in his own emotion, considering it his biggest weakness after having spent more time caring on her then anyone else and indeed himself. It killed him to see her so lost to what was occurring in her head but his own frustrations overtook. he grabbed her gently though firm as he expected her to push him away, pulling her against him as he scent over took his senses, his jaw muscle tightening

Everything about her screamed as he grabbed onto her, she stayed silent however her muscles tensing until they felt as though they were ready to burst through the confines of her skin. Slowly though she did start to relent and relax to his comforting embrace the scent of him to much for her to bare, to much for her to fight off. She had longed for him to hold her again. She just want sure it was enough to heal the damage that had already been done.

Cradling her within his arms, Caine pulled her further against him, trying to at least give her warmth as he waited for anything from her. at last when she gazed upwards he watched with worry, nodding as she spoke.
"i know....you did well.." he murmered though he was not at all happy with the plan that had occurred

A flood of thought and feeling invaded him within seconds as his arms wrapped her into an embrace, a slight trickle of hesitance as he felt her concrete stature. though as she seemed to gel into the idea of their contact he couldnt have cared less, greatful to have held her despite the intensity of their separation. he missed her and had longed for her though all sorts of logical questions tried hard to invade his thoughts. he pushed them aside with an air of stubborness, holding her close as long as she was willing to stand with him

The longer he held onto her the more she relaxed into him even going as her as to rest her head beneath his chin and close her eyes.
An exhaustion like no other started to grip her one of physical and mental fatigue, she had been fighting it off for so long in the hopes that she could remain self sufficient without him.
"Do you hate us?"
She asked of him her voice just barely above a whisper.

feeling her head under his chin he closed his eyes, ignoring the entire other situation at hand. he cared for her in a pure way that most never knew he could feel.
"i hate whats taken you from me" Vaughan murmered lowly, the thought that her instability had proven far too much of a task for him to overcome with her in the past

Her eyebrows knitted together in the guilt which ravaged her, if only she could be strong enough to cope with the spirits which used her as a doorway by their thousands she would still have him. She wasn't strong enough for him and he was not strong enough to cope with her at her worst.
"Sorry.... so sorry" she replied starting to move away feeling that she was just hurting him all the more.

"no...Kenshu dont" Vaughan growled softly as she pulled away in the middle of apologising.
"stop it" he growled, only louder out of frustration. he hated that he could not make the spirits stop, he had spent hours and days at a time in librarys across the country to try and find a way. As she stepped away from him, he stepped closer to close the gap, the annoying ache in his chest now known to him as a sense of emotional pain, disgusting and powerful

Feeling the rage and pain within him as he demanded she not move any further away from him, not to leave him she almost shuddered. So intense was the pain that she caused him that it caused her physical pain as she froze letting him move back to her. Confused and frightened by what would pass between the two of them if she stayed and even more so if she left she held her breath closing her eyes once more, to frightened to look upon his face for what she might see there.

'I wish I could turn back and stop you from taking on all of this, perhaps If things had been different somewhere along the line Kenny I wouldnt have failed you" he murmered, though this time he did not pull her back into his embrace, almost terrified by his own confusion and inner turmoil.
"I cant stop thinking of you Kenshu..all of this time and I cant stop my mind.." he murmered in a somber tone.

She shifted her hand moving out to cup his face, though she stopped just before their skin made contact she didn't want to touch him unless that was what he wanted from her. It had all become so confusing and such a mess she didn't understand whether they were coming or going anymore.
